Art Barn Leaf Rubbing

When the Art Barn teamed up with The Library District to celebrate our Public Lands, we said YES! We had everything we needed to create leaf rubbings for the nature journals our friends from the library made available to all visiting volunteers and makers.

Chances are you already have everything you need to explore the world of nature in new and meaningful ways that you will remember because you took time to PAY ATTENTION by expressing what you see.

Teaching artist, Susanne Reese sets the Art Barn table with the following materials and Lesson Plan, taken from her weekly Art Barn Workshop at the Mt. Charleston Library.

  • broken crayons (sparkly welcome!)

  • 1/2 sheet of typing paper

  • dried leaves (not overly dry or they will break)

  • nature journal (any journal- it’s your invitation to go outside and pay attention)

Susanne Reese

“Art can introduce you to a new view!

Understand nature, color, beauty, and how other’s view the world! Learn and grow and nourish your brain.

Practice observing and studying details”.

- Susanne Reese, Art Barn Adventure Guide

Lesson Plan, by Susanne Reese- Teaching Artist and Art Barn Adventure Guide

Simplicity is fun.

You are always invited to Come Outside & Play!

Start with what you’ve got and keep practicing.
